This is simply awesome, I don't think I can find any fault with it, really. Awesome job, man.

Nice chords

I'm enjoying the chords progression, almost feels kind of baroque-ish (especially dominant 7th chord, which made me think it was going to go into sequence or something heh). I'm not so hot about the piano solo though (or at least the specific sample you've chosen) - it feels a bit too incisive and sharp in contrast with the rest of the piece. Those transitions feel kind of awkward too - but it's probably cause there isn't vocal line over this. Mostly minor points, though - I'm still enjoying this thoroughly.

Not bad

I wouldn't really call this DnB, but it's not a bad piece at all. Really enjoyed some of the harmonies you've used, though the synth guitar lead thing gets kind of annoying after a while. I'd throw in some more compression as well, as the piece really doesn't feel as aggressive as it sound.

Professional sound stuff

Everything sounds pretty well produced, and the arrangement is quite nice too - really like the choir and vocalist. Only thing that kind of threw me off is that after the vocalist section, it kind of winds back down to a texture like the beginning, with the addition of the solo brass. It kind of sounded a bit empty to me by comparison, but maybe it's due to the short breaks in between the melody phrases. Normally, you probably expect an escalation in this section, but I guess given the length you couldn't really help that. Still, very solid piece - nice job.

Nice production

I'm really liking the producing you've done on this song - the progression is simple but effective, and you've kept it interesting throughout by adding slight changes throughout. Verse was brief, but seemed solid. I didn't like the constant chorus effect on the Jenn, though maybe it's because she's just singing the chorus parts in this teaser - would've liked to hear her voice in a more natural manner, though. Good stuff, though.

Nice melody

Unlike the reviewer below, I actually enjoyed this slower approach for a solo melody - certainly a nice break from all of the rampant shredding and thrashing normally expected. I can really feel this "Hallow Mind" feel you were trying for - The reverb helps to emphasizes this certain sense of lonelyness/emptiness, and the emphasized pitch bends really spoke to me of a chaos or distortion, but in a subtle way. Great job, really.

Nice use of ambience

Really enjoyed the beginning with the cityscape sound effects, with the piano playing dilutely in the background. The transition into the song felt a bit abrupt, but works well enough I guess. The music itself is pretty solid and portrays the mood well for the most part (my favorite being the part where the piano mostly keeps repeating that one chords), but the recording sounds kind of lo-fi to me (you can clearly hear the distortion in the strings), and there are also a few places where it sounds distorted due to clipping or something. Overall, I found this enjoyable, but some more polish definitely wouldn't hurt.

Kusho-Konnection responds:

Thanks for this critique. I'm definitely planning on remastering this piece whenever I get the equipment to do so.

Well

I donno about this piece - it sounds like you got some nice chords and stuff, but everything sounds too distorted and lo-fi for me to make it out clearly. Maybe you should record it quieter, or with the effects turned down some?

i will do that thanks for your review

Neat beat

I really like the beat with echo and flange effect, though when you have the kicks too close together, they kind of sound out of sync. The other instruments certainly add to the sensation of pressure, though there were a few parts where instruments dropped out/changed too quickly, in my opinion. Overall, cool piece though.

ShadowNazi169 responds:

i've noticed that some just drop, i must have missed them the last time i was editing them over. i'll try and fix that and get it here, hopefully it'll be better.

Good at parts

There were some parts of this that I enjoyed, and some others not so much. The intro part was pretty sounding, especially the piano part (though the fake lo-fi crashes I could do without). The part following has a neat build-up, or at least until that cliched hip-hop lead comes in. On top of that, the parts with the repeatitive vocal samples were just plain obnoxious - I've heard enough of that kind of in ego-tripping crap. But the part around 2:00 was really ace, though too bad it was really short.

Anyways, this sounds like pretty decent beats, but there are just something things in it (as I've mentioned before) that just don't sit well with me.

Paroxym responds:

I just put the vocals in for fun but yeah I see what you're saying. Yeh the chorus is a tad short but is bangin. Thanks for the review man.
