Like the ACID and soundbytes

Sounds rather dark, but bouncy enough to rave to definitely hehe. I liked the ACID bass in this, especially when you filter it around. The soundbytes you added in the middle were a nice touch too. The beat was pretty consistent, but you seem to add enough stuff around it to keep it interesting. I was kind of expecting more alien/weird effects and stuff though, but that riff you used in the intro and later on does a good job of reinforcing the mysterious feel. All in all, very solid stuff; keep it up!

Thanks shizeet! ACID bass, that's what they call it, eh? Well, shows how electronically illiterate I am :D

-Cool though, and yeah, those FX were fun fun fun!

Sounds like a nice song, could use better mixing

I like the general grooviness of this piece, and vocals seem pretty nice, but it was hard to make them out in the mix. You probably should turn down the bass and the electric guitar chords down some more so that they don't obscure the vocals - though they do sound like good levels for an instrumental. The climax near the end was pretty cool )though sounded fairly clipped), and I wished it'd had gone into a new section to extend the song. But what you have here is pretty good. Just need to watch the levels some more in the future.

Thanks, dude.

It's an alright start...

There's some nice ideas, especially the groovy part around 1:15 where you have that one instrument start to echo or something against the chords. The synth chords are a bit too loud, and it's kind of hard to hear the other instrument. The mix sounds a bit barren though with just the two instruments you have, both of which occupy about the same range (lower treble). I'd think about adding some more instruments, at least a bass line so we can get some of the lower register filled. The build-up part near the end felt kind of unnecessary since it's winding to close but the increase in volume made it sound like it was actually going somewhere else. Maybe change up the chords some too once since they pretty much don't change from start to finish.

Anyways, right now it sounds rather mediocre, but if you continue to work on this it might turn into something nice.

Sounds really cluttered up

It sounds like the remix should be pretty decent, but pretty much the entire mix is muddled messed. I'd take out the pad thing cause that's probably the main culprit (it's playing a whole bunch of clashing chords), and then work on better balancing between the rest of the instruments. Also, it's probably a good idea change up the instruments an arrangment some more to make it feel more like a remix than just some extra instrumentation overlayed over the original. Keep at it.

thanks for the tips I'll keep that in mind ^_^

Nice Production

I really like the production track on this - it has a bit of that dirty old-school feel, but with more modern sensibilities too. The lyrics got pretty solid flow too, though the voice felt a bit too seperated in the mix from the beats. The only thing I'm so sure about is the intro part - the clicking thing doesn't really seem to lead that well into anythin really. But nice job on this - it's fairlyhard to find decent hip-hop tracks here, so stuff like this is much welcomed. Nice.

Melodic

I really enjoyed the original's piece, and I think you've done a good job for the most part. The panning on the melody panning and some of the other pan/flange effects got to be a bit disorienting, but I think this can probably be fixed if you just slow down and draw out the pan/flange some more. I was kind of disappoint of how the piece ended though - it just kind of just repeated the beginning and sort of abruptly ended. I also wish you added the cool chord progression section near the end of the original piece - that was my favorite section! But all in all, a good job.

Nice sounds

Really beautiful pad you've got here. The riff itself seems to be quite mysterious too, especially with the chromatically altered chords in the first half. It'd be really neat if you could expand this to a full piece though. Nice work.

Well done

You know, I never really payed much attention to the "Industrial" genre before, but I think it's fast becoming favorite genre in within electronica music. This is another fine example of the sort of creativity and originality that seems to be severely from the mainstream genres but is still usually pretty accessable for those with at least a little bit of an open mind.

Whoops, sorta went of on a tangent there. As for the piece itself, I think it's very well done in all aspects. I really like the almost bouncy feel of the lead synth, which adds more depth to the piece rhythmically outside of the drum track. The drums are pretty well done for the most part, though the glitchy rolls felt a bit overdone. Also, though this may be at the expense of clarity, adding even more reverb might help express the "outer space" theme even more (I can't help but feel that the drums feel a bit too canned - inside small chamber or something).

Overall, this is a really nice piece. There's places for improvement but basically you've expressed you intentions very effectively. Great job!

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

thanks for the good review man, those compliments mean a lot coming from you. glitch is probably indeed overdone, its a hard technique to master needless to say. the reverb was intentionally suposed to sound canned (small room size plus some decay), but a larger reverb sound for this theme is a great idea. again, thanks another helpful review, i'm glad you like this one :D

Funeny

Hehe, this really goofy feel to it, especially with that wah-wahish bass flowing about. This sounds like one of those short pieces you might throw in as a transition track for a concept album or something. The production values sound kind of low, but I think that actually helps add to the playfulness/kitschyness to it. Interesting stuff though, really :).

Thanks for stoppin by ! That's pretty much all of my stuff. I'm just a kid playing with toys.

Good stuff

This feels a good deal deeper than lot of the techno/electronica stuff submitted here. The instruments give it a bit of a retro feel, but I really liked how you organized the piece, with small but effective additions here, some nice filters/effects there, basically keeping it interesting despite the repetitive synth line. Still, I probably would've liked a little bit of variation in the synth parts melodically, to help keep in the piece in temporal perspective. But you've really done a good deal expanding on this little piece of material. Nice job.
