Not too bad

I like the chromatic riff you got in there, adds a darkly edge to the piece. Not a big fan of the pounding bass kicks though. And during the last minute or so it seems like you kinda stop developing the piece and just let go on auto - and then just end sort of abruptly. Overall, not a bad attempt, but there are definitely places for improvements.

DjThunderbass responds:

YOu are RIGHT I NEED TO ADD MORE EFFECTS HUH? but you see i got the program 9 flstudios6 ) off of torrentreactor.net

Cool

Definitely digging the latin vibes, though it's some tremelo for the melodic parts would be even better. It'd also be cool if you get a full band version of this. But nice job with this.

PHOENIXtrunks responds:

thanks! Yeah, I suppose a full band version would be cool...I guess I kinda wanted to capture the spirit of Spanish gypsies, just playing their flamenco songs on the corner of the street. :P But thanks for the review! :D

Nice tune

Chilled as advertised, though there are parts where it sounds like it might really take off (the lead guitar has an aggressive feel a lot of the time). Bit on the short side, but not unenjoyable at all. Nice one.

Azkainix responds:

Thanks for the review and your opinion.
Although,
Taking off on guitar is not necessarily a bad thing.

Thanks and peace.

Randomish

The mood of this piece is kind of interesting, but can get annoying quick if set on repeat. The melody line sounds kind of random, probably because it's so long-winded and chromatic. I think it might be better if you slowed it down and made it more intelligible to the listener, and maybe break it up into sections that are repeated.

cartoon781 responds:

yea thats true.. its because im still new at using FL ill try and work on that thanks

Nice melody

The music is pretty good, but the sound is really lo-fi-ish. I think if you had a better mix this would sound wonderful, but right now it doesn't quite have that magic.

Arcova responds:

Thank you. I'm afraid that I cannot improve much on the quality, but hey, it sold tons of CDs being the main demo.

Nice remix

Everything sounds pretty good in this rendition, and the beat gives a hip-hopish feel too (I could easily see someone MCing over this). The only problem I have is with the panning - it's too hard left/right. This makes it kind of annoying to hear on headphones (especially with the bass constantly buzzing out in only your left ear). Fix that, and I think this piece is just about gold. Keep it up!

Zoniao responds:

Understood, thanks for the advice man!

Mysterious

I think this piece works just fine with strings only. Has a sort of mysterious mood to it throughout - could probably be used in a lot situations as a score. Good job.

joewhitcomb responds:

thanks, this is all improve in FL studio though, completely random, but thanks, i liked it too^^

btw, first thing i ever made in FL studio ^^

Neat loop

Has an almost grungy feel with the dissonace, despite the instruments being fairly clean sounding. Interesting idea though - I'd certainly like to see this expanded into a full song.

theonlymagicalpig responds:

Hmmm, interesting review. Actually I hesitated about the "clean-ness" of the instruments. But with more grittiness the loop started to get messy. As far as expanding the loop to a song format, I didn't take neither my guitar or my bass (just my tenor sax) when I moved into the US so that'll have to wait until I've bought new ones. I can't wait. Reason is great but I miss the versatility of playing the instruments. Thanks for the review :)

Good start

This is a pretty good start I think - you've got some good ideas going on that are open to development. The only thing I didn't really care for was the double kicks throughout - it can be a good effect to build some tension part, but using it too early and too frequently might decrease it's effectiveness, and possibly end up sounding annoying too.

GronmonSE responds:

I've been obsessed with double pedals lately, adding them is almost inevitable. You're right though, I shouldn't use them so often. Thanks for the crit, mate. If you're interested, I changed some things on th updated song.

Thanks again.

Dig the dirty feel

Very nice mix of instruments and tunes (my favorites are probably the catchy lead in the beginning, and the 5thy one that comes later on). Drums feel a bit too boomy to me though - I think harder/edgier sounding drums would probably work better for this piece. Hard to imagine this being just a test of instruments - great job!

Bunny-master responds:

) Yeah, I really like the synths used here. I guess I can see where you're coming from with the drums. thanks for the review!!!
